Hope can be cruel, but sometimes it sounds like feedback and fire. Kansas-based noise rock trio Flooding returns with depictions of the female body. This single a blistering new single that grapples with desire, memory, and the fragile threads that hold us to our fantasies. Out now ahead of their upcoming EP object 1 (dropping July 11), the track finds frontwoman Rose Brown navigating emotional wreckage over a bed of screeching distortion, driving drums, and tension that builds until it implodes. She explains:
Sexual fantasies are a form of hope. If you’re ever horribly depressed, you should try having a crush on someone.

Caught between the ache of longing and the sting of truth, this track is as vulnerable as it is vicious. The song’s caustic honesty and slow-burning rage position Flooding as a band unafraid to feel and to scream about it. With singles like your silence is my favorite song, and now "depictions of the female body,” Flooding is shifting toward a melodic structure without sacrificing intensity. Their sound has evolved to more pop-aware, more confrontational, and even more devastating live. Pre-order "object 1" and then follow Flooding and TWITTER, SPOTIFY, BANDCAMP, and INSTAGRAM.
