Gollylagging Capture Friendship, Loss, And Growth On "Comet"

Written By: Big C

Boston DIY outfit Gollylagging announce their long-awaited debut album, Real Life, arriving October 16 via Disposable America. Driven by fuzzy guitars and soaring melodies, their heartfelt new single Comet wrestles with loss and changing relationships without losing sight of hope. Written by Jules Skiffington, the track channels the emotional fallout of a fractured friendship while balancing bright hooks against darker reflections. Bringing together members of Boston's DIY scene for a backyard cookout and games, the visuals celebrate the friendships holding everything together for something far more meaningful. Speaking on the album's central message, vocalist and guitarist Jake Regulbuto explains:
Real Life is about feeling dissatisfied with where you are in your life and trying to reach a place of acceptance with that. It confronts the feeling of being stuck in the same patterns with relationships and day to day problems while feeling powerless of changing.

The warmth of that community echoes the band's philosophy as they prepare to introduce their most collaborative project yet. That spirit carries throughout "Real Life," with every member contributing creatively to an album shaped as much by shared experiences as individual voices. Following standout singles including Bronco and Jackknife, Gollylagging continue carving out their place within New England's thriving independent music community. Fans can catch the quartet headlining Wildflower Festival in Milford, New Hampshire, before supporting Victoryland and Drook in Somerville as the countdown to "Real Life" continues.
