If sound could tremble, this is what it would feel like. Portland rock band Guitar, the project of Saia Kuli, delivers a ferocious second preview of their upcoming album We’re Headed To The Lake. With cyclical riffs and cynical lyricism, the track Every Day Without Fail surges forward with urgency, balancing despondency and drive in equal measure. Directed by Noah Porter, the official music video places Kuli in the hum of his sheet metal shop, wrench in hand, repairing motorcycles and reimagining mundanity as art. Kuli explains:

This song is about the daily grind and boredom, but also about securing the things you need to cope with it.

The visual perfectly encapsulates Guitar’s ethos: aggressive, laconic, and always on the verge of collapse and rebirth. Kuli’s delivery folds everyday monotony into something volcanic, while the song’s raw textures mirror the sacrifices made in pursuit of contentment. With critical acclaim from Stereogum, The FADER, and Glide Magazine, anticipation is high for their upcoming release. The band will also hit the road this fall supporting They Are Gutting A Body Of Water, bringing their noise-drenched urgency to stages across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest.
