Portland rock project Guitar, offers an irresistible first taste of their upcoming album We’re Headed To The Lake. The lead single Pizza For Everyone spins scenes of lake days and coin-filled couch cushions into an anthem for the broke and blissfully bored. The track captures the fleeting magic of spontaneous moments, hints at summer’s unpredictability. It’s scrappy yet cinematic, the kind of song that invites you to ditch your plans and chase something gloriously aimless. Helmed by Saia Kuli, he shares:

This song is both an epic non-sequitur rally cry and also about being broke and bored sitting on a couch.

That tongue-in-cheek energy threads through the album’s early preview. Out October 10 the album reflects a knack for turning simple imagery into layered, lived-in narratives. "We’re Headed To The Lake" follows last year’s Casting Spells On Turtlehead, a release that expanded Guitar’s reach through collaborations with Spared Flesh and tours alongside acts like Wishy, Horse Jumper Of Love, and Cloud Nothings. This fall, the band joins They Are Gutting A Body Of Water for a Midwest and Pacific Northwest run, with a hometown stop supporting Horsegirl on August 19.
