A jagged climb does not promise a clean horizon, only a truer view. New York duo halfway up a jagged hill continue to introduce themselves to CEL with HUAJH. It's an eight-track debut that drags post-hardcore, slowcore, and blackened-metal weight from despair toward renewal. Devin Gilbert and Jeb Polstein leave the edges exposed, while Lucy Mondello’s voice enters four songs like another weather system. Speaking on the release the band said:
The album takes you from pain to recovery, death to life, while drawing on fantasy and nature. After years of nurturing, we can’t wait to release it into the wild. We think the world needs heavy music.
Released September 10 through Vinegar Hill Sound Records, "HUAJH" treats heaviness as terrain rather than destination.
