If you've got it, flaunt it. And if you don't got it? Flaunt it! Katie Schecter returns with her infectious new single "Pay It No Mind," a mantra for keeping cool amidst life’s chaos. This track blends a laid-back groove with Katie’s signature charm, reminding listeners to focus on what truly matters. Inspired by Bill WithersUse Me Up, Schecter wrote the song behind a drum kit, channeling rhythmic brilliance into an irresistible groove. Its accompanying video, directed by Casey Pierce, takes inspiration from Pop Art and Jørgen Leth’s Andy Warhol short film, turning clutter into visual metaphors for life’s distractions. Premiered by Flaunt, the video pairs Schecter’s cheeky performance with bold colors and playful symbolism, perfectly complementing the track’s carefree vibe. As Schecter explains:

The various clutter in the video represents the small stuff, and I’m just trying to tune out the noise and keep it simple.

The track was recorded live to tape at New York’s iconic Diamond Mine Studio, with production by her husband, Nick Bockrath of Cage The Elephant. Featuring a stellar lineup of collaborators—including Nick Movshon, Homer Steinweiss, Phil Towns, and Matthan Minster—the track shines with effortless cohesion and rich, textured instrumentation.

Katie Schecter’s dynamic artistry spans music, modeling, and collaboration with industry legends, including contributions to Cage The Elephant and Rayland Baxter. With a third album slated for release in 2025, "Pay It No Mind" is a fresh anthem for our time. Stream the new single and watch the vibrant video below.
