Moving, but going nowhere... Fresh off the release of their introspective sophomore album breathe in. breathe out, Los Angeles-based indie pop/rock trio Koyal unveils the stunning official music video for Gasoline. A disco-infused anthem pulsating with frustration and longing, the track finds vocalist Pooja Prabakaran confronting the struggle of seeking validation from those unwilling to understand. Directed by Joe DeSantis, the desert-shot visual is a symbolic portrayal of stagnation and resistance. Using a treadmill placed in the middle of the arid expanse, the band embodies the feeling of relentless motion without progress—a striking metaphor for trying to break free from external expectations. Desantis shared:
I wanted to capture that feeling of being stuck in a moment. The treadmill added a surreal, visually unique touch that amplifies the sense of moving but going nowhere—something I’d never seen before, yet it fit the mood perfectly.

Celebrated for their glistening melodies, bubbling production, and immersive storytelling, Koyal’s latest album is a meditation on self-discovery and artistic freedom. Koyal will celebrate breathe in. breathe out with a special album release performance at The Virgil in Los Angeles on April 25. As Koyal’s ‘Gasoline’ ignites the tension of chasing acceptance in a world that resists change, connect with them on Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
