Mötley Crüe Reopen "Too Fast For Love" At Forty-Five

Some records age like leather: the scuffs become part of the shine. Mötley Crüe reopen their debut with Too Fast For Love 45th Anniversary Edition, released through BMG. The original November 1981 pressing put just 900 LPs into circulation through the band’s Leathür Records imprint, before Elektra Records issued a remixed edition with a different tracklist in August 1982. Placing both versions in the anniversary collection makes the sequence and presentation part of the story. The debut’s punk attitude and glam-rock swagger meet a more reflective side across On With The Show, Starry Eyes and Merry-Go-Round, giving the contrast gives the hard-rock bravado somewhere to turn, allowing vulnerability to register alongside the drive of Live Wire and Take Me To The Top.

The expanded box follows that development through the two album editions, 1982 Perkins Palace performances and demos from the band’s first studio sessions in March 1981. A 100-page photo book and replica cassette and seven-inch single preserve the physical traces of a group building its own introduction. After the earlier preview of Take Me To The Top, the Leathür Records album now reaches streaming services for the first time. The accompanying Live Wire video offers another route into those beginnings before the band returns to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for eight Carnival Of Sins In Sin City shows, March 19–April 3, 2027. Explore Too Fast For Love 45th Anniversary Edition and compare the two tracklists as the record changes from a ten-song independent release to its nine-song Elektra form.
