Some things are so massive, they defy gravity... or at least slip into song. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon returns with his all-star musical collective Rogue Oliphant for Visible From Space. Its a genre-defying album set to release September 12 via Soul Selects Records. Today’s premiere of the album’s title track sets the tone: expansive, euphoric, and gloriously strange. Produced by legendary Tony Visconti and featuring music by Warren Zanes, “Visible From Space” is part love song, anchored by Muldoon’s signature poetic acrobatics and spoken-word presence. Muldoon shared:
This one’s a litany of magnitude. y favorite poet is John Donne… he was the king of extended metaphor, and this is my take on that — if love could be charted from orbit.
Zanes adds:
When Paul hands you a lyric, he’s handing you more than words. There’s mood, rhythm, and a pulse already built in.

With guest sax from Donny McCaslin, the result is as cinematic as it is cerebral, name-dropping everything from the Great Wall of China to Prince’s Super Bowl halftime show. Recorded with a cast of underground legends, including Cáit O’Riordan, David Mansfield, Chris Harford, and drummer Ray Kubian," Visible From Space" marks Rogue Oliphant’s fourth album and most expansive work to date. Let us know your thoughts on the accompanied lyric video.
