Radium Dolls capture the fragile in-between moment where endings and beginnings collide. On Moving, the Brisbane/Meanjin rock band channel nostalgia, restraint, and release. Rather than leaning into anger, “Moving” finds its power in thunderous hooks colliding with warm melodic undercurrents. Built around the act of physically leaving a shared space after a breakup, the song lives in the quiet logistics of helping hands, unspoken grief, and the strange grace of still caring. Frontman Will Perkins frames the song as a reflection on growth through vulnerability, He says:
Having recently moved out of my house with my brother Tom, I was reminded about when I first moved in. My long term ex-partner and I had just split, and it was a difficult and tumultuous time for both of us. Despite this, we remained supportive of each other and she came to help me with my things when I was struggling emotionally and physically with the workload and new beginnings. We remain great friends to this day, and I am immensely proud and grateful for the way we were able to navigate that highly emotional period of time.
As guitarist Tom Perkins explains:
'Moving' was written in one afternoon. I was playing the verse idea when Will brought in a poem he’d already written, which quickly shaped the lyrics. The band ran the track a couple of times–maybe two or three full plays–and the song was essentially finished on the spot. It’s remained unchanged since that day.

The track arrives as the latest preview of their forthcoming album Wound Up, due January 30, 2026, and stands as one of their most emotionally resonant offerings to date. The single continues Radium Dolls’ steady ascent following recent standouts Scorching Heat, Golden Boy, and Unravel, all building toward the album's full release. With headlining Australian dates in February and their first North American tour in March, including a SXSW showcase, the band are carrying this emotional honesty straight to the stage. Listen to "Moving" now, pre-save "Wound Up," and follow Radium Dolls as they take this next chapter worldwide on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.
