Change can bend, stretch, and reshape everything in its path. Brooklyn trio Ringing balances emotional vulnerability with waves of distortion and friction with their latest single rose/bud/thorn. Blown-out guitars and elongated riffs shifts the song into a sound that captures uncertainty while still reaching forward. Frontman Colton Walker threads reflective lyricism through the noise, allowing moments of clarity to surface within the chaos. Walker describes the song as a reflection on confronting change and finding optimism on the other side. He explains:

The song is about optimism in the face of change. Once you confront what you need to do, you can start to feel hopeful about the path in front of you.

Earlier releases like incandescent and want2want2 introduced this balance, pairing sludgy textures with introspective songwriting that explores self-realization and emotional detachment. The release previews their upcoming debut album another cycle in the cosmic wash, arriving March 20 via Julia’s War Recordings and Signal//Noise Records. What began as a solo project in 2020 has grown into a formidable New York three-piece known for their towering live sound and emotionally charged performances. They’ll celebrate the release of "another cycle in the cosmic wash" with a hometown show at TV Eye on March 26 alongside Sun Organ, Wince, and Many Shining Windows.
