A record can feel like a room or it can feel like a horizon. On Physical Dream, Sam Blasucci builds something closer to a landscape the feels wide, nonlinear, and alive with running water and night air. The Ojai-based multi-instrumentalist announces his fourth full-length and first double LP with the featherlight single Delicadeza. It's a Spanish-and-English acoustic meditation that moves, with no shoes on. Across 28 tracks, "Physical Dream" unfolds as Blasucci’s most sprawling statement yet with romance brushes against mysticism. Political resistance threads through ambient detail, including audio from anti-ICE protests and the natural world surrounding the studio. He describes:
'Physical Dream' seems like it was a seed that was planted so long ago. There are years of inspiration behind this album credited to so many places I’ve been and so many upheavals that shaped it into what ended up being my most sprawling collection of music I’ve made. I first imagined 'Physical Dream' while I was at Wi Spa in Los Angeles and envisioned it as a painting first. I painted a few drafts of what I thought it could be and as the years went on and I continued to make demos in my living room, it slowly morphed itself into a scattered batch of all the creative influences I’ve felt in the last few years. It’s heavily revelatory of the shadow and more ‘below the horizon’ sides of myself.

Years of upheaval and inspiration, from Los Angeles to Coahuila, Mexico, breathe into the project’s layered textures. The project, recorded on a remote island in British Columbia is shaped by cascading instrumentals, buoyant boogie rhythms, and organic field recordings. "Delicadeza" acts as a gentle entry point, a blueprint for escape and elevated romance, while the forthcoming EP La Miel (out February 27) offers what Blasucci calls the “honey” to the record’s wounded interior. With EU/UK dates this spring and U.S. shows to follow in May and June, the double LP signals a new landscape for Sam Blasucci.
