If the night sky could sing, it might sound like this. Swiss-American alt/indie rocker Sam Himself returns with Pale Moon. Soaring with rapture one moment then teetering on the edge of despair the next, the track rides a brooding yet propulsive groove. Lyrically cryptic yet emotionally piercing, “Pale Moon” refuses to offer easy answers, instead pulling listeners deeper into its orbit. Sam’s signature baritone sound pleads into the glowing world with the final single ahead of his much-anticipated third album, Moonsongs. Sam explains:

All my favorite songs allow for multiple interpretations; they mean different things to me at different times. I hope that Pale Moon accomplishes something similar, conveying something meaningful without spelling it out completely; I wanted to leave space for the listener to insert themselves and their own experience into the song. Because that’s where things get interesting.

Recorded in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains with longtime producer Daniel Schlett and mastered by Benjamin Gut, “Pale Moon” follows other album singles Dance With Me, Backstreets, and Perfect Strangers. The release coincides with Sam’s solo tour across Switzerland this fall, before a full-band run in spring 2026. With two Swiss Music Award nominations, Sam Himself continues to carve a unique lane in the global alt/indie space. Catch Sam Himself live on tour by following him on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, and AppleMusic.
