Rising duo Still Blank deliver a subtle yet stirring anthem entitled Cut Slack. Anchored by a steady, chugging guitar line, the track unfolds like a quiet revelation. Blending folk textures with shoegaze haze, the song captures the duo’s ability to find power in restraint, transforming emotional weight into a shared mantra. Jordy’s upbringing in Kaua’i infuses breezy rhythm, while Ben’s Manchester roots lend grit and melancholy, creating a push-and-pull that defines Still Blank’s evolving identity. That duality is written into their sound, equal parts pep talk and intimate confession. Jordy says:
Cut Slack was born from the people-pleasing, empathetic nature of both Ben and I. It’s a reminder to take some of the load off instead of carrying around unnecessary pressures on our backs—something the both of us are all too familiar with.

The new single follows their double release Ain’t Quite Right and Ain’t Quite Right (Unresolved) produced by Flood. The original track was hailed by Stereogum for its “cool unease” and spiraling tension. Their striking debut What About Jane earned acclaim from CLASH, Dork, Wonderland, and DIY. This fall, Still Blank join Royel Otis on their European tour. Follow alternative music’s most enigmatic newcomers Still Blank on Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube.
