steal everything. lowercase always. make the best shit possible. Los Angeles-based artist and producer Frankie Beanie reintroduces himself under a bold new alias supermodel with the genre-melting debut single i used to live in england. Premiered on BBC 6music’s New Music Fix, the track blends deadpan wit with dancefloor-ready beats, tracing Frankie’s transatlantic journey from Virginia punk shows to Liverpool nightclubs. Laced with Tesco meal deals, cheeky Americanisms, and a DIY ethos, the single hits like a mixtape scribbled on the back of a boarding pass. Of the project, Supermodel* says:

The rules are there to stop me from making boring shit. supermodel* has to feel stolen, stupid, instinctive and raw – like it’s breaking its own logic. a reminder not to take it too serious and just make the best shit possible. the lowercase thing is just cause it looks better. i just decided i wasn’t going to compromise anymore. i wasn’t going to hide behind some “cool guy” aesthetic or act like i don’t give a fuck about my art when i obviously do. make the best shit possible and put it in lowercase. that’s supermodel*.

The self-directed music video, shot on hazy 16mm film, nods to Fatboy Slim’s Weapon Of Choice, but flips the script. Instead of ballroom flair, it’s fluorescent-lit office chaos and rooftop liberation in downtown LA. The visual echoes supermodel*’s project philosophy of don’t try and be cool, just make the best shit possible. The single marks the launch of a full EP dropping later this year, promising more high-voltage chaos wrapped in lowercase minimalism that's, impulsive, raw, and ready to break its own rules. Watch as supermodel dances through office walls and expectations and follow him on Instagram, Tik Tok, and X.
