Chris LaRocca is one of the most exciting artists to emerge from Toronto’s creative scene. The producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist prepares for his forthcoming EP, perhaps! out May 5. The brand new single deep end encapsulates LaRocca’s electric sound, pulling in elements of DIY production, breezy R&B, and pop-inspired harmonies. Attracting the attention of Grammy-nominated producer WondaGurl. The combination is leading to a year of amazing production. LaRocca shares:
‘deep end’ is an ode to the relentlessness of the music industry. It flips the notion of the body being a temple on its head and suggests that the body is rather a vessel for success - as artists, producers, songwriters and everything else, we put ourselves through hell for our art: sleepless nights, vices, not eating, all things we go through to get the most out of ourselves while working and to stay present. I felt like I was truly in the deep end of all the above while working on this project, and this song being one of the last ones I wrote for the project felt like it really summed up the process for me.
LaRocca has an impressive track record of writing and producing for tastemakers like Kali Uchis Deserve Me Feat. Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller I’m Ready For You, Boslen LEVELS, and more.
