The Rolling Stones Let Courtney Pine Finish The Sentence On "Who You Callin’ Crazy"

Written By: Big C

A loose lip can start an argument, meanwhile a saxophone adds another voice to it. The Rolling Stones bring Courtney Pine into that exchange on Who You Callin’ Crazy, a new single from Foreign Tongues Loose Lips. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood share electric-guitar duties, with Steve Jordan on drums and producer Andrew Watt supplying bass and tambourine. Matt Clifford adds piano, organ and Rhodes, placing several keyboard textures around Pine’s saxophone. By expanding the pallete, the combination makes the guest feature part of the ensemble’s design, with the horn joining a conversation already shared across guitars and keys. Resulting in a familiar band identity having room for another instrumental personality.

The single returns to the creative period behind Foreign Tongues, extending the chapter discovered with Mr Charm. "Foreign Tongues Loose Lips" arrives November 27 through Capitol Records on vinyl, 2CD and digital formats. Its five additional recordings include Where There’s A Will, featuring Steve Winwood on organ, alongside Human Tide, Bad Luck Hideaway and She Still Comes Around. The guest credits suggest continuity between the original sessions and the expanded edition, rather than a separate project assembled around a new concept.
