Even thunder has a tender side. Ahead of their caustic new album Heavy Pulp, American rock mainstays The Technicolors deliver a surprising emotional detour. Slated for release on August 29, Softcore is the gentlest moment from a project otherwise set to roar. With its moody textures, heartfelt instrumentation, and magnetic calm, “Softcore” gives listeners a moment to breathe before the album’s full throttle kicks in. Produced by GRAMMY-nominated Robert Adam Stevenson and featuring BRONCHO’s Nathan Price on drums, the track glows with vulnerability amidst the grit—showcasing a band unafraid to lean into contrast. Sean Silverman says:

'Softcore' was one of the first ideas Brennan and I developed for the record. It felt like discovering a song that had always been there... familiar, yet sonically unexplored for us.

"Heavy Pulp" marks the band’s return after a calculated, deliberate pause. Following 2021’s Cinema Sublimina, The Technicolors intentionally stepped away from the spotlight to reimagine their sound and creative process. With momentum growing, "Heavy Pulp" is the result of that deep creative dive. Until August arrives, watch “Softcore” now and pre-save "Heavy Pulp" for the full ride ahead.
