Come Closer is a collaboration project debut, bringing together two distinct creative languages between AURORA and Tom Rowlands, which prioritizes contrast, scale, and full sensory immersion. Across the 12-track album, the sound shifts between techno, trip-hop, and progressive elements. Where structured electronic frameworks collide with fluid, emotional vocal work, the production feels engineered to allow AURORA’s voice to move freely through each arrangement. Critically, it holds up, with outlets pointing to its kinetic structure and layered composition as standout qualities. I DRINK THE LIGHT stands at the center of that design, capturing the album’s balance between clarity and abstraction. TOMORA says:
We wrote ‘I DRINK THE LIGHT’ whilst watching the light glitter and dance off the shimmering fjord in Norway. We wanted to write a song that felt like witnessing the wonders of Earth for the very first time. The song is an exploration of light sensations and fluid dynamics. We taste the earth, we swallow the sun, we are one with the fabric of life, and most importantly of all, we drink the light.

There’s a clear intention behind how tension is built and released, creating a listening experience that feels continuous rather than segmented. The rollout behind Come Closer reinforces that same duality, combining large-scale visibility with a controlled artistic approach. Released via Capitol Records, the album arrives across multiple physical formats, including marbled vinyl, glow-in-the-dark editions, and standard pressings, giving the project a tactile extension beyond streaming. TOMORA’s return to Coachella, following their U.S. debut and early singles like RING THE ALARM helped establish the tone while setting expectations for the full project.
