Total Wife just wrapped the first leg of their U.S. tour, and they’ll head back out later this month with a kickoff show at Atlanta’s Drunken Unicorn on September 21, Now the Nashville experimental duo of Luna Kupper and Ash Richter share Peaches, the final preview of their forthcoming album Come Back Down, arriving September 19. The track lands with an otherworldly official video that collages droning guitars and fluttering synths into a hurricane of sound, a fitting reflection of the song’s storm-born origins. Reflecting on the track, the duo shared:

The guitar tracks on this song are sourced from a single take resampled over and over. The lyrics were written about a recording session that couldn’t happen because of a huge storm that took the power from East Nashville. The storm itself provided imagery to express feeling disconnected from close friends, and frustrated with external forces getting in the way of mending the relationship.

"Come Back Down" follows earlier singles Make It Last and Second Spring, as well as last year’s 0 EP, where the band honed their reputation for blending electronica, shoegaze, and noise-pop into cathartic, hypnotic soundscapes. With “Peaches,” Total Wife stretch their recursive, DIY logic to its breaking point, making a song that is both intimate and overwhelming. In October, they’ll join Los Angeles band Dummy at The Blue Room in Nashville. Until then watch the official video and pre-order "Come Back Down" before it drops.
