Tyler Ramsey & Carl Broemel Let "Windy & Warm" Find New Air

Windy & Warm moves like two old roads meeting at a porch, each carrying dust the other immediately recognizes. Veteran singer-songwriters and guitarists Tyler Ramsey and Carl Broemel bring their intertwined touch to the fingerstyle standard composed by John D. Loudermilk more than six decades ago. Recorded at Broemel’s Nashville studio, their rendition opens the next chapter of Celestun – Deluxe Edition, arriving September 30 through their own Duo Quest Records via Tone Tree Music. Ramsey’s nimble picking and Broemel’s classically trained precision create a center together. Familiarity becomes movement as the instrumental keeps evolving beneath their hands. The deluxe edition adds three tracks to a debut built on unhurried communication and acoustic detail. Ramsey credits the collaboration with revealing another level inside a piece he has carried for years:
It’s a song I have been playing for a long time—it seems to evolve somehow, as most intricate instrumentals do. But playing it with Carl took it to a whole new level.
The expanded album also gathers live versions of Broemel’s Carried Away and Ramsey’s Evening Country, with backing vocals from Maggie Halfman and Moose Loon. An Americanafest showcase at The Station Inn on September 17 places that conversation in a room built for attentive ears.
