If your music were a flavor, what would it taste like and why?
Bourbon. Many flavors in the tasting experience, initially, and as consumed.
What's a quirky ritual you have before hitting the stage?
I sing "Do-Rae-Me,..etc" scales, in my car on the way to a gig.
What’s one social issue that you’re passionate about addressing through your platform?
People need to stop littering, and dropping consumer waste everywhere. Use a trash can. Likewise, haven't we seen enough graffiti? It is beyond artful now. Just ubiquitous desecration. Please Stop Tagging! You can't all be Banksi.
If you could time travel to any music era, which would it be and why?
The 60's. Lots of change in our nation, huge demographic evolving with the Boomers, and an unmatched variety of musical styles erupting across the world. Musical instruments were electronically improving rapidly too. Everything sounded different with each new artist and song release.
What’s the weirdest thing you've ever written a lyric about?
In No Cliche'", my recent work, the hapless protagonist sits in church praying for his sweetheart to return. God looks down and describes him as "an old hollow tree". Fitting, but Hell it came from God!
Do you believe in manifesting your goals, and if so, what’s something you've manifested recently?
Hard one to answer. A goal, one at a time, reasonably attainable, is better than a multitude of far off magnanimous pursuits. Winning, one step at a time is the best motto, and build on the small triumphs.
If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be like?
Like a James Bond movie. Regardless of the decade, these tracks are always the best. Edgy, orchestral, danceable. I could listen to "Live and Let Die" everyday!
What song from another genre do you secretly wish you had written?
Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears For Fears. Perfect driving song. Lilting lyrics. Flourishes, sonic peaks, killer guitar solo, and a bass/drum line you could walk on. Timeless.
How does your music help people see the world differently?
I try to stay positive. Love Handles is a play on words, but Love is the omniscient backbone relied upon. Long As I'm Willing, features a naive hero that is always thankful, and sees the good in everyone. Kinda tired of the Quaalude-influenced, down in the mouth, indie movement. As well, we have been "Auto Tuned" till our ears are splitting....Just saying we could use some optimism, clear voicing.
If you could have one superpower to enhance your artistry, what would it be?
The ability to play every instrument in my songs, at once. Not like a musical Octopus, or by sampling and synthesizing everything, but just to experience playing all parts simultaneously.
What's one thing you want for the holidays and where can people connect with you?
For any Holiday, I would like to see a more gracious and thankful Social Media. Think we are all a bit tired of the scandal, complaining, accusing, politics,etc..."Give Peace a Chance" (Lennon).
