What’s been your favorite moment of your career thus far?

My favorite moment so far has been completing and releasing my debut album 5G. The music represents years of vision and self-funding, and it set the foundation for the anthology musical film I’m now creating. Even though the full visuals aren’t finished yet, the process of seeing the album come to life—hearing it mastered, holding the CD in my hands, and sharing it with my family and supporters—was a milestone that made me proud.

How do you or your band typically travel around?

I travel solo, often flying between cities to work on projects or connect with family. Since my birthday this year, I’ve been traveling monthly—Belize, Chicago, and more—and each trip has fed directly into my creativity. I see travel as part of the art; every new place gives me a fresh perspective that eventually finds its way into my music and visuals.

What’s the backstory behind your latest release?

My latest release, "5G," is more than an album—it’s the launchpad for a full anthology musical film. The concept explores love, technology, and humanity in our hyper-connected yet disconnected world. I drew from my Haitian-American background and influences like R&B, reggae, and kompa, mixing them with a futuristic lens. I released the music first while continuing to build the visuals, because I wanted people to hear the story even as I keep shaping its cinematic world.

How long did it take before you made your first dollar off music?

My first income from music came through digital streaming. It was a small but powerful confirmation that something I created in my own space had traveled out into the world and reached people I didn’t know personally. That first royalty wasn’t just about money—it was about impact and proof that my art had found its way into the global conversation.

When did you feel noticed by the music industry?

I felt that shift when my film and music projects started gaining recognition at international festivals. My productions Ludi Tunes and For My Homies won awards, and I began hearing from people in different countries who had connected with the work. That was the first real moment where I felt the industry looking in my direction.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done on stage?

While I haven’t performed live shows yet, I’ve created bold visual performances through film. For me, the “stage” has been the screen, and building worlds where music and story collide has been both the craziest and most rewarding risk. It’s about pushing beyond the traditional album release and reimagining how music can be experienced.

What foods or drinks are you bringing to the cookout?

I’m vegan, so I’m bringing flavors that everyone can enjoy—jerk jackfruit, plantains, and coconut rice. I’d also add hibiscus (sorrel) tea, which ties back to my Caribbean roots. For me, food is an extension of culture and creativity, and I love showing people how plant-based dishes can be both vibrant and satisfying.

How do you balance music and your personal time?

It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned balance by prioritizing what matters most. My son and my family are my anchors, and I make time for them no matter what. I also focus on my health and creative rest, because I’ve found that the best art comes when I’m whole. Music is a constant, but personal joy and peace give it real depth.

Who’s on your dream collab list?

I’d love to work with Erykah Badu for her fearless originality, Burna Boy for his ability to blend Afro-fusion into global hits, and Wyclef Jean for how he carries Haitian culture onto international stages. Each of them represents an artistic freedom and authenticity that I deeply connect with.

What are you working on now and where can people connect with you at?

I’m currently developing "5G" into a full anthology musical film inspired by Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker. It fuses original music, visuals, interludes, and storytelling into a unique cinematic experience. People can connect with me on Instagram @LudmillaMuse, on YouTube, or through March Forth Productions, my creative company.
