Some records wander en-route to its destination. Bi-coastal indie rock duo Best Boys have officially unveiled their debut EP Ride Out, out today! Written and recorded between their home bases in Portland, Oregon, and Richmond, Vermont, the EP embodies a profound sense of yearning — not only for love but also for place, for home, for belonging. One moment soaring on groove-driven hooks, the next quietly meditating in delicate, analog-fueled reflection. The EP cements Best Boys as a band capable of shaping intimate confessions into widescreen soundscapes. "Ride Out" thrives on the dynamic interplay between Joe Rittling’s emotive vocals and poignant lyricism and Aaron Levison’s multi-instrumental production and sonic vision. Levison reflects:
We set the mood, tempo, and general aim of the songs together, and my job from there is to be as fluid and flexible as possible to best serve the tune at hand. Joe’s voice and his ability to pen poignant, emotive lyrics are two of the major pillars of our songwriting. To me, Ride Out feels like a soundtrack to that search for meaning, connection, and intimacy.
