Caitlin Starr Breaks The Locks Around "Cage"

A cage becomes loudest the moment someone decides the lock is temporary. Caitlin Starr makes that decision on Cage. Built from a grinding metallic guitar against melodic vocals before pounding drums recreate the acceleration of a panic attack. The single is like a match struck against control, beauty standards, capitalism, and body dysmorphia. Its chorus does not politely request space, instead it bites back until space appears. Starr keeps the melody alive inside all that pressure as "Cage" turns survival mode into a release valve with teeth. She adds:

The single belongs to Speed Saves, Starr’s five-track sophomore EP arriving October 9 through G-Foil Records. Its title flips "Jesus saves" and "speed kills" into a study of long hours, multiple jobs, mania, motion, and validation. Chris Cubeta produced the project alongside Meredith Okomoto, Carmen Castillo, Zack Jones, and Lucy Coykendall.
