DeeOhGee Put Human Fingerprints Back Into Rock On "Truthin’"

Like three fingerprints pressed into wet amplifier paint, DeeOhGee leave the human evidence all over "Truthin’". The single previews their self-titled Midtopia album with British Invasion snap, fuzz-psych haze, and the rougher bite of 2000s alternative rock. No click track corrals the trio, so their performance breathes, leans, and occasionally bares its teeth. Looseness never becomes lazy and turns chemistry into the song’s engine. The band carried the spark from a Wisconsin hippie festival into a Kansas studio and let instinct take the wheel. As Zach Murphy explains, the point was to keep real people audible inside the room stating:
Because AI is the state of the world, real art and music is coming back. We’re actually playing the music; there’s no click track. It’s just real people playing real music in a room.
The self-titled record arrives November 13 with imperfection treated as fuel instead of a flaw. "Truthin’" plants its hooks inside that live-wire approach, letting tones scrape against one another until character appears. Dylan Whitlow’s blunt verdict, "a killer fucking rock and roll record," fits an album leaving the fingerprints on the speakers.
