Nightvision is the immersive new project from Devon Allman. Designed as a full-sensory experience, the album blends ’80s sci-fi references, esoteric Middle Eastern imagery, and ambient art-rock into a world meant for deep listening and intentional escape. With the release of Awaken, Allman introduces a slow-burning instrumental pulling listeners into a glowing, nocturnal soundscape shaped by atmosphere, motion, and restraint. Its the moment before consciousness returns. The track feels cinematic without chasing spectacle built on mystic rhythms, searing yet patient guitar lines, and ambient propulsion. Allman describes it as:

‘Awaken’ was the first instrumental song we came up with for the nightvision record. It really set the tone for the sci-fi vibe of the whole set.   For me it’s part Pink Floyd meets The Cure riding through Arabia watching VHS copies of the original Dune.   An amalgam of my Texan youth.

The track follows Dead Sea Scrolls and further clarifies nightvision as more than a side project. Recorded during the pandemic at Allman’s home-turned-studio, the project also marks the recording debut of his son Orion Allman on synthesizers, joined by longtime collaborators John Lum (drums) and Justin Corgan (bass). For Allman, "nightvision" represents both patience and evolution, a five-year journey rooted in his long-standing desire to write music for film and space-driven storytelling. the project stands as a quiet departure from expectation while still carrying his unmistakable musical fingerprint.
