Sometimes the road that calls you home is the one that almost let you go. Today, 8x GRAMMY® Award winner Kacey Musgraves shares a hauntingly graceful rendition of Hank Williams’ Lost Highway. Co-produced by Musgraves, Daniel Tashian, and Ian Fitchuk, the single captures a quiet strength through gentle acoustic strumming, dusky vocals, and a sense of timelessness that feels deeply personal. Breathing fresh life into the 1949 classic with her signature blend of elegance and emotional clarity, this is the first release under her new label home, honoring the past while signaling an inspired new chapter for the acclaimed artist. Musgraves reflects:
'Lost Highway' was always a musical stable for artists who might be considered outliers or outlaws. In 2011, when other record labels questioned my songwriting and my more traditional country sound, Lost Highway believed in me.

Now, years later, the singer-songwriter circles back to where it all began, officially becoming the first artist signed to the newly relaunched Lost Highway Records. The label’s reactivation, under the direction of Robert Knotts and Jake Gear, marks a powerful return to its legacy of spotlighting culture-defining artists. Founded in 2000 by Luke Lewis, Lost Highway became home to legends like Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, and Ryan Bingham, and famously released the GRAMMY-winning O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. With Musgraves leading the charge, the revived imprint aims to uplift the next generation of trailblazers. Stream the new single now here and keep an eye out for more from the iconic label’s second act.
