With cinematic sweep and soulful intimacy, Silverada and L.C. Franke continues their collaborative Southern Bloom series with a striking new version of Young In Love. The orchestral-pop crooner joins forces with the Texas neo-traditional band to reimagine Silverada’s torch song, layering Franke’s smooth jazz phrasing against pedal steel and harmonica flourishes. The anecdote captures the project’s serendipity—born from tequila mini-bottles at 30,000 feet, realized through cross-genre reverence. This track is elevated by the legendary Mickey Raphael, whose first notes carve out the aching soul of the song. Franke recalls:
‘Southern Bloom’ was born when I found myself sitting next to Silverada’s Mike Harmeir on a flight to Nashville from our mutual home of Austin, Texas. We bonded over our mutual love of 1960s country-pop… What if we got together sometime, we joked, and tried on each other’s songs? Well, a few months later, that’s what happened. And I roped in my friends Rami Jaffee, Mickey Raphael, and Mike Lewis to round things out.

The "Southern Bloom" collection has already delivered a stirring reimagining of Franke’s Prisoner and a dreamy spin on Lana Del Rey’s Say Yes To Heaven, both infused with contributions from Foo Fighters’ Rami Jaffee and Bon Iver’s Mike Lewis. More than collaboration, the series dissolves borders between jazz, country, pop, and soul, conjuring what Franke calls a “nightclub-in-the-desert vibe.” With Raphael’s harmonica providing its singular Americana signature, the project grows into something timeless.
