“I might look like my mama, but I smile like my daddy’s mugshot…” On the eve of her Grand Ole Opry® debut, rising country star Laci Kaye Booth unveils Daddy’s Mugshot. A brand new hauntingly, clever and heartfelt single which further defines her place in Nashville’s new wave of storytelling powerhouses. With her signature dreamy tone and steel-threaded lyrics, Laci turns a viral Facebook moment into a vivid narrative of inherited resilience, Southern roots, and self-made survival. Her sharp wit and emotional depth take center stage in a song that balances twangy vulnerability with lyrical bite. Laci says:
I wrote this song after I was scrolling on Facebook and saw my dad’s mugshot going around. I started writing about him, my life, the curse passed down to me and trying to ‘make it’ in Nashville.

Produced by Ben West, the track marks Booth’s first release since her critically acclaimed debut album The Loneliest Girl In The World and its acoustic companion. Looking ahead, she’ll perform at Sand In My Boots and North Of Nowhere Festivals, reunite with Parker McCollum for select summer dates, and join Megan Moroney on three shows. Stream “Daddy’s Mugshot” now and follow Laci Kaye Booth as her journey into the heart of country music on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
