Landon Barker Brings "If I Ever Talk To God" Into Vevo Studios
Written By: Big C
Some prayers need a room where the heartache can be heard. Landon Barker brings If I Ever Talk To God to Live From Vevo Studios, showcasing a song about lost love within a warm, intimate performance setting. Pulsing yellow lights surround Barker and his band as he plays guitar, with his black outfit and green-striped tie sharpening the visual contrast. Released through Big Loud Rock, the performance offers another view of a song recently featured in the October 29 episode of The Kardashians. The guitar gives the confession a visible physical anchor, while the direct view of the singer and musicians keeps the act of playing close to the story being told. Barker described the return to releasing music in a quotation shared with Variety:
I haven't released music in a couple of years, and during that time, I went through a lot creatively and personally. This song feels like the right way to come back.
Vevo’s studio format gives the band performance its own place in the song’s presentation, separate from the narrative of an official music video. The lighting establishes warmth while the subject stays with absence, creating a clear relationship between setting and lyric.
