Christmas can arrive through an open window as easily as a chimney. Lauren Daigle welcomes the Preservation Hall Jazz Band into Sleigh Ride and Go Tell It On The Mountain, bringing her Louisiana roots to two familiar standards. The recordings introduce her partnership with Capitol, Interscope and CCMG through the musical community close to home. Pairing a solo singer with a long-established jazz ensemble makes the seasonal guest collaboration a new identity for New Orleans. Daigle calls that meeting a celebration of different styles, giving these versions a clear point of departure from a routine holiday reprise. She describes the connection as:

Coming from New Orleans, bringing together different musical styles with a little second line spirit feels like a celebration of new relationships, fresh perspectives and the joy of sharing my music with others.

The two-song release places holiday repertoire within the relationship between a recognizable lead voice and a distinctive local ensemble. A seven-inch edition arrives November 27, followed by The Behold Christmas Tour opening at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on December 2 and 3. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will join Daigle at New Orleans’ Saenger Theatre on December 5 and 6, before the tour closes in Orlando on December 12. Listen to "Go Tell It On The Mountain" and "Sleigh Ride" before those hometown performances. Connect with Lauren Daigle on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
