A thread pulls loose and the right chord snaps tight. Brooklyn four-piece Local Weatherman unveil a new EP Right One. Balancing shoegaze haze with buzzy garage-rock, the five-track release channels anxiety, self-repair, and late-night clarity into songs that hit fast but linger longer. At the heart of "Right One" is the idea of repair capturing a band in motion feeling restless, melodic, and emotionally exposed. Tension between frayed edges and forward resolve runs through the EP’s driving hooks, unfettered vocals, and cathartic release. Bandleader Fritz Ortman explains:
The EP is about stitching things back together when they start to come undone, When I sat down to figure out a title, I wanted to name it after 'Right One' because it felt like it fit the whole release thematically. I feel like every song is about trying to work out some problems so that you can finally be the Right One for the people who love you most.

Out now via Karol Records, the band sharpens its voice without sanding down the feeling. The release follows a steady run of singles that map the band’s emotional arc. Weighing arrived with raw urgency, its distorted guitars pressing down on lyrics that wrestle with expectation and doubt. Thread traced identity through unraveling metaphors and punchy riffs, while last year’s The Hole paired themes of hopelessness with anthemic lift.
