Philly-born indie rock quartet Mo Lowda & The Humble bring the storm on Northside Violet, their new single from the upcoming fifth studio album Tailing The Ghost, out June 20. Fueled by thunderous drums, distorted guitar swells, and a brooding attitude, the track captures the emotional burnout of a cyclical romance. Delivered with sharp confidence, “Northside Violet” closes the door on the chase, with frontman Jordan Caiola declaring the end of a once-electrified but exhausted connection. This is the single with the most attitude. It’s about a cat-and-mouse love affair, with the narrator having seemingly finally given up.

To me, it feels like a dark New York alley, but the alley is actually a desert. I didn’t even use a bass guitar—just subby tones that feel visceral.
"Tailing The Ghost" was written face-to-face, in circles, amid nature—between poker games and home-cooked meals across Joshua Tree, Lake Travis, Colorado, and Tennessee. The spontaneity bled into the music, creating arrangements that are as open and sprawling as the landscapes that shaped them. Following recent singles like the groove-laced The Painter and the wistful double drop 7.31 / Sara’s Got Big Plans, the band has surpassed 2 million streams across platforms. Earlier this year, the animated video for Canary drew praise for its surf-tinged riffs and romantic flair, with RIFF Magazine calling it “a carefree yet grounded” standout in modern alt-folk.
