Marina Sakimoto, frontwoman of LA-based rock project Shunkan, shares the hypnotic visual for Arm’s Length. The track captures isolation’s push-pull effect, a sonic spiral of vulnerability and distorted desire. Sakimoto’s commanding voice cuts through the haze of loneliness, blending raw emotion with lo-fi grunge textures which feel both intimate and cinematic. The new video, premiered via Magnet Magazine, paints a delicate portrait of solitude, inspired by the moody aesthetics of Wong Kar-wai. Sakimoto shares:
‘Arm’s Length’ was written during lockdown when I was craving connection but sinking deeper into myself. I wanted the video to feel surreal.

This brand new single is a highlight from her first album in over five years, Kamikaze Girl. out now via Rite Field Records. Produced by Alex Newport, the album includes the bittersweet glow of Hellbound, the riotous release of Usual Suspects, and the slow-burn heartbreak of Prettier. Each track spins vulnerability into catharsis, revealing a rebirth in real time. Stream "Kamikaze Girl" now, and let “Arm’s Length” remind you how beautiful distance can sound.
