Brooklyn-based psych rock quintet ZEBEDEE is back with their electrifying second studio album, Going Nowhere Fast, now available everywhere. Known for their booming drums, smooth guitar riffs, and contemplative lyricism, ZEBEDEE continues to expand their sonic universe with this latest release. The album launch is accompanied by the full version of their official video Fast Edee, showcasing the band's flair for storytelling and visual artistry.
Produced by GRAMMY-winning engineer Daniel Avila and recorded at Flux Recording Studios in Manhattan, Going Nowhere Fast features contributions from Row's wife and band guitarist Kelsey Van Mook. The band's lead guitarist and vocalist, Row, shares his insights on the new album, saying:
I was clearly pretty pissed off about the state of this country and all its flaws. But considering I'm not born here but choose to live in this big beautiful dumpster fire of a country, I thought that gave me an interesting perspective to comment on it. The lyrics are often about the sad, desperate, self-obsessed reality we live in, and the defense mechanisms we use to cope with it.
This raw and honest commentary resonates throughout the album, offering a profound reflection on today's world. The album's rich, robust sound is a testament to the band's neo-psych and desert rock influences. With glittering synths, fuzzy guitar licks, and post-punk drums, ZEBEDEE creates a compelling auditory experience. On August 13, fans can join ZEBEDEE for an official release party at NYC's Mercury Lounge, featuring a special performance with Kirk Douglas' Hundred Watt Heart of The Roots.
