Influence can feel like a hand on the shoulder until its grip begins to tighten. Against The Current trace that pressure through Protégé, letting admiration and resistance share the same electric air. Sharp dynamics keep the relationship moving as power changes hands beneath every line. The single studies the people who shape us, challenge us, and sometimes try to define us. However, the band refuses to let respect erase the need for independence. Before the album widens the frame, "Protégé" makes its conflict personal.

That tension opens the next doorway into Till Death & Back, the band’s third studio album arriving October 30. Executive producer Will Ferri joins Erik Ron, Josh Gilbert, Morwell, and Josh Saldata across the record. Always You & I and Dead Man Walking extend its conversation around survival, attachment, and consequence. Released independently through STEM, the album gives those themes room to collide without sanding down their edges. Step into the push and pull, listen to "Protégé," and then stay current with Against The Current on INSTAGRAM, YOUTUBE, TIKTOK, FACEBOOK, SPOTIFY, and APPLE MUSIC.
