“The world feels like a museum of the past we never lived through.” With that sentiment, Australian post-punk quartet Radio Free Alice crack open their new EP Empty Words. The project threads between past and present while fusesing raw reflections with jagged riffs and sticky melodies. Anchored by standout track Chinese Restaurant, the band drifts into late-night memories, where history lingers like neon afterglow and lyricism cuts sharp against new-wave grit. As Radio Free Alice prepare for their most dynamic year yet, frontman Noah Learmonth explains:

The idea for ‘Chinese Restaurant’ came while touring the UK, surrounded by this overwhelming sense of living in the past. Every venue had a punny name nodding to some bygone legend… driving around in this van felt like wandering through the aftermath of a house party that was definitely over, but no one seemed capable of moving on.

That restless energy surges through the EP, balancing nostalgia with urgency. Produced by Ali Chant and Ewan Pearson, the five-track project builds on the band’s acclaimed momentum from Polyester. The band now launches their first North American headline tour, hitting Shaky Knees Festival, two sold-out NYC nights, and making their Reading & Leeds debut. From the hazy hooks of Toyota Camry to the pounding title track, "Empty Words" is a bold, honest continuation of their sonic vision.
