Get ready for a timeless collaboration bridging generations of British songwriting brilliance. Fresh off his 2025 Mercury Prize win for People Watching, Sam Fender unveils a new chapter in his evolving legacy with “Talk To You” featuring Elton John. On “Talk To You,” Fender trades guitars for vulnerability, opening a heartfelt dialogue about endings, regrets, and the quiet ache of love lost. The song finds Elton John at the piano, layering Fender’s raw Northern soul with elegant melodic grace. The result is a striking duet between two generations bound by honesty, craft, and a shared reverence for storytelling. Fender explains:
It’s a song about the end of a long relationship — about the regret, the mistakes, and the lessons that come with it. I was playing around with the riff and thought, what I need is a really good pianist... and then thought, hmmm, I wonder who I can call? Who better than Elton John?
Elton returns the admiration, adding:
Sam called to say he'd written a song with a piano riff that he thought would sound great with me playing it. I couldn’t resist. I truly love Sam — he’s been a friend for years and it’s incredible to see him grow into being a truly world-class artist.

The luminous new single, recorded during the original People Watching sessions at British Grove Studios with producer Marcus Dravs, is from his forthcoming deluxe album People Watching (Deluxe).
