If confusion had a pulse, it would sound like this. Chicago’s rising noise-pop disruptors This House Is Creaking drop with Something Else. The single is a glitched-out torrent of angular guitar, bubbling distortion, and introspective chaos. The track swings from hazy unease into a blistering release, capturing the band’s signature blend of scrappy experimentation and emotional turbulence. Their knotty textures, abrupt jolts, and confessional edges create a sound that feels both volatile and strangely luminous. Reflecting on the puzzling collapse of things you can’t quite name, the band shares:
This is a song about accepting mediocrity in the face of failure, even when you cannot figure out why it is you’ve failed. It’s a funny song we made with our friends Peter Schultze and Hunter Borowick from Tuff Sudz.

This song is a perfect entry point into THiC’s ever-evolving universe. Fresh off the release of I Want To Feel At Home Here, THiC continues gaining momentum with critical nods from Pitchfork Selects, Alternative Press A-Sides, Chasing Sundays, and Glide Magazine. They kick off 2026 supporting DIIV at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall for the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival on January 17, followed by a performance at the 4th Annual Abortion Access Benefit Series at the Empty Bottle on January 24.
