Los Angeles-based artist Winter and Philadelphia’s Hooky join forces for their first collaborative EP, Water Season alongside Julia’s War Recordings. Their latest single, Horseshoe, introduces a dreamy blend of lo-fi electronica, nostalgic shoegaze, and intimate lyricism, creating a sound which feels like the last moments of summer fading into fall.
Recorded in Philadelphia, the track layers Winter’s signature airy vocals over Hooky’s hypnotic production, crafting a melodic swirl of warmth and introspection. Accompanying the release is a self-directed music video, filmed across John Heinz Park and the Museum of Modern Art, capturing the duo’s organic creative connection. Winter shared:
It was this cool feeling of making new friends, exploring a city, and making art together for the first time. It strangely felt like I had known them forever, even though it was the first time we were hanging out.

Produced by Winter and Hooky, "Water Season" fuses Winter’s ethereal dreamscapes with Hooky’s glitchy, shoegaze-infused production, bringing a fresh, experimental energy to both artists’ catalogs. This project follows Winter’s 2024 trip-hop-inspired EP …and she’s still listening and Hooky’s 2024 LP Mirage, marking a natural next step in their evolution.
Ahead of the EP’s release, fans can stream “Horseshoe” now and pre-save "Water Season" for its February 14 drop. Let us know your thoughts on the official video below.
