Even the brightest image can leave something out of view. brookelen turns that blind spot into her third EP, dark side of the sun. brookelen's voice combines blends of indie rock, orchestral writing, post-rock textures and folk intimacy. Her lyrics range explore songs concerned with religious trauma, queerness, and independence. With the message of being fully seen includes the parts that brightness can conceal, brookelen givess private subjects room to expand beyond a close confession. The Icarus imagery behind shadow develops that tension between ambition and balance. The pairing of intimate vocals with fuzzed-out guitars puts vulnerability and force in the same frame. brookelen explains:

'dark side of the sun' is about looking directly at the parts of ourselves we'd rather keep hidden. It's about discovering that healing isn't becoming someone new—it's finally allowing yourself to be fully seen.

The exposed, guitar-driven writing of hide now sits within a fuller project engineered by Claire Morison with additional production and mixing by Pearce Gronek. The strings and guitars bring warm to the same expression, supporting the EP’s movement between exposure and defiance. Out through Soliloquy Records, a release show will follow October 28 at Permanent Records Roadhouse in Los Angeles, with a New York appearance November 11 alongside Paper Lady.
